Impact of Low-fidelity Simulation-based Experiences in a Pharmacology Classroom Setting in Prelicensure Graduate Nursing Education

BackgroundSimulation in a pharmacology nursing class has positive outcomes related to knowledge and confidence undergraduate education. The purpose of this study is explore the use simulation on knowledge, confidence, competence prelicensure graduate class.SampleA convenience sample was comprised students (N = 44) enrolled course. divided into an experimental (n 21) control 23) group.MethodThis quasi-experimental comparison group pre/posttest research study. Medication Administration Competence Confidence Scale (MACCS) Safety Knowledge Assessment (MSKA) were used measure student competence, prior then following three low-fidelity simulation-based experiences (SBE).ResultsThe had statistically significant difference both self-reported safe medication administration knowledge.ConclusionSimulation effective teaching method for administration.
